GOBEL is seeking a Director of Business Development with a background in Healthcare Philanthropy who will be responsible for generating revenue and increasing profitability through the creation of new business opportunities.

The successful candidate will have experience identifying and pursuing opportunities, researching and analyzing market trends, building and maintaining relationships with prospective clients, partners, and stakeholders, dynamic presentation skills, and experience negotiating deals and contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect by telephone, email, social media, industry conferences and other channels to hospitals and healthcare system philanthropy departments within geographic territory; build market awareness of GOBEL’s consulting and service offerings.
  • Cultivate relationships with decision makers in client prospect organizations (e.g., CEO, CDO, etc.) to secure new business and to maximize the value delivered by GOBEL.
  • Engage in account management such as account planning, client procurement, meeting follow-up, pipeline development, opportunity pursuit, contract negotiation, risk management, proposal development and revenue attainment, renewal and upsell.
  • On-going management of sales pipeline, forecasting, tracking, and maintaining account detail in our CRM platform.
  • Prepare proposals and RFP responses, including budgets and strategy; and assist in the creation of associated sales materials and presentations.
  • Control and support all stages of the sales process, including guiding internal teams to collaborate and rally around development of innovative solutions to meet or exceed identified targets, expectations and outcomes.
  • Act as a steward for good business and growth of the client relationship.
  • Possess an in-depth understanding of GOBEL’s services and differentiation in the marketplace.
  • Present and effectively communicate GOBEL’s value proposition, industry best practice and trend analysis.
  • Overcome objections with solutions leading to the sale.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to prospective clients by demonstrating a deep understanding of their business drivers, organizational imperatives, and philanthropy challenges, and offer solutions and effective sales strategies.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms within acceptable guidelines outlined by management working with the Gobel Finance and Client Engagement teams.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to all department and company policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Demonstrate financial stewardship by managing current resources with high efficiency, thoughtfully applying budget principles, and acting with integrity and accountability in financial decisions.
  • Look for ways to improve how daily work is done to improve efficiencies, automation, and simplify our processes and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

 Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university and related sales experience.

  • Healthcare philanthropy experience, ideal.
  • Proven experience building client relationships, offering value added, insightful and strategic insight into their philanthropy challenges.
  • Ability to develop a compelling value proposition, develop effective proposals and make persuasive presentations to decision makers.
  • Exceptional public speaking and presentation skills, with the ability to captivate and engage audiences while effectively communicating complex ideas and information.
  • Proven ability to initiate, develop and grow C-level and senior executive relationships within target client organizations; influence purchase and buying decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and motivate collaboration with team members.
  • Expert sales acumen, critical thinking skills, ability to be solution oriented, drive to “win” and executive presence.
  • Knowledge of the full life cycle sales process from prospecting to close.
  • Must have proven, strong phone, written, verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complicated technology concepts and convey to clients with simplicity and clarity.
  • Must be highly motivated and enthusiastic while demonstrating a professional demeanor and possessing strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, highly responsive and customer focused with solid process orientation.
  • Adaptability to demanding business environment with changing business priorities and ability to perform outstanding work under compressed time pressures.
  • Ability to analyze performance and modify actions to increase productivity.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Weekend and evening hours may be required to meet deadlines.

GOBEL offers compensation in the range of $110,000 – $125,000 based on experience, with the opportunity to earn an annual bonus. In addition, GOBEL offers excellent healthcare, including company-paid employee coverage for medical, dental, vision, prescription coverage, disability, and life insurance, and retirement savings plan (401k) with a company match. We also provide twenty (20) days of annual paid time off, and twelve (12) paid holidays.
