Advanced Analytics Engineer
The Advanced Analytics Engineer contributes to implementing, managing, and optimizing data products and services, data infrastructure and warehouses, business intelligence tools, and interactive customer dashboards. As an Advanced Analytics Engineer, you possess a solid understanding of data modeling, analytics, and technology in the context of fundraising operations, as well as a commitment to providing excellent support and services to our clients.
The Advanced Analytics Engineer is a proactive professional who takes a collaborative approach to solutions design and problem solving. This role is responsible for building and maintaining scalable data pipelines, implementing new client products and services, participating in data quality management and production support activities, engaging in organizational research and development initiatives, and supporting day-to-day operations in a full-service data analytics department.
Data Integration and Transformation:
- Assemble large, complex datasets that meet business requirements.
- Identify, design, and implement process improvements for scalability.
- Build infrastructure for data extraction, transformation, and loading using Azure and SQL technologies.
- Access and query various data sources, including relational databases, SQL databases, and APIs.
- Clean, deduplicate, and optimize data at scale for ingestion and consumption.
- Proactively address data management issues to improve data quality.
Business Intelligence and Analytical Insights:
- Performs analysis of philanthropy data to help drive client outcomes.
- Performs data mining of client data and working with large data sets.
- Creates business intelligence dashboards and data visualization solutions.
- Develop analytical tools to provide insights into key performance metrics.
- Work closely with subject matter experts, data engineers, and data scientists to fulfill data-related requests.
Technical Production Support:
- Troubleshoot complex data issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Interact with cross-functional teams to understand their needs and resolve issues.
- Perform quality checks and user acceptance testing.
- Develop and maintain documentation and materials.
Cross-Functional Team Collaboration:
- Meet with internal teams to clarify and document reporting requirements.
- Collaborate to understand existing issues and new requirements.
- Perform client needs assessment and scoping, selling, and planning of projects and management of outputs.
- Brings a strong expertise and point of view on data and insights that allow us to drive optimal performance for our client’s work.
Consulting Operations Support:
- Submit change requests and perform updates to data outputs.
- Support leads who collect large data sets, prepare data, create models and delivery results back to clients.
- Partner with data dashboard/report writers to manage analytic projects, deliver and support dashboards/reports to identified clients.
- Implement tracking reports, lists and portfolio reviews for clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a data driven or analytical driven function or department.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in data engineering and/or data architecture with demonstrated familiarity and/or experience in designing, developing, managing, and optimizing automated data pipelines that support business intelligence and machine learning systems.
- Experience with supporting ELT and ETL pipelines using dedicated pipeline orchestration tools such as Airflow, Prefect, Dagster, or others.
- Experience in designing and implementing dimensional data models (e.g., star, snowflake, constellation, etc.) to support the design and development of end-to-end data warehouse solutions for business intelligence purposes.
- Experience in implementing, maintaining, and supporting business intelligence solutions in Power BI and Tableau, including the optimization of data models to improve dashboard performance and usability.
- Experience with cloud-based data services and technologies, with an emphasis on data warehouse solutions deployed in Microsoft Azure.
- Experience using Git-based version control systems including an understanding of best practices for maintaining clean and efficient code repositories.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, APIs, contemporary data warehousing techniques, and managing large datasets.
- Background and knowledge of data analytics in healthcare fundraising and grateful patient programs highly desirable.
- Quick adaptability to new programming languages, technologies, and frameworks.
- Exceptional attention to detail, responsiveness, and project management abilities.
- Willingness to work outside of traditional business hours and interact with clients virtually.
GOBEL offers compensation in the range of $75,000-$135,000 based on experience. In addition, GOBEL offers excellent healthcare, including company-paid employee coverage for medical, dental, vision, prescription coverage, disability, and life insurance, and retirement savings plan (401k) with a company match. We also provide twenty (20) days of annual paid time off, and twelve (12) paid holidays.
