$10M+ healthcare gifts in March 2025:
- UNICEF announced a $500M challenge grant from the Bezos family. The fundraising challenges individuals, governments, and philanthropies to donate to support essential nutrition programs and healthcare supplies for vulnerable women and children.
- Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia celebrated a $125M gift from Aileen and Brian Roberts. The gift names Roberts Children’s Health, a new impatient tower expected to open in 2028.
- Wellington Charity Hospital announced an additional NZ$100M gift from Sir Mark Dunajtschik and Dorothy Spotswood. The gift builds on their prior giving and supports construction of the new charity hospital.
- The University of Utah announced a $75M donation from the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation. The gift supports construction of a new hospital in West Valley City.
- Polytechnique Montréal received a $50M CAD donation from Pierre Lassonde. The gift establishes a disruptive innovation hub.
- Providence Mission Hospital Foundation received a $50M donation from the Rancho Mission Viejo family. The gift named the Rancho Mission Viejo Family Tower.
- The Weill Family Foundation donated $50M to establish Weill Cancer Hub East. The collaborative entity is formed by Princeton University, The Rockefeller University, Weill Cornell Medicine and the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research to investigate the interplay between nutrition, metabolism, and immunotherapy.
- Lund University in Sweden celebrated a SEK420M ($39.8M) gift from the Mrs Berta Kamprad Foundation. The gift, the university’s largest since its foundation in 1666, supports translational cancer research.
- St. Louis Children’s Hospital celebrated a $38M donation from the Crawford Taylor Foundation, Enterprise Mobility Foundation, and the Taylor and Kindle Families. The gift funds the Healthy Kids Express Program for mobile pediatric health.
- Sinai Health Foundation announced a $25M CAD donation from the Hilary and Galen Weston Foundation and Jancie and Earle O’Born. The gift names and supports a physical space for the Weston and O’Born Centre for Mature Women’s Health.
- North Carolina State University celebrated a $20M donation from Ross W. Lampe Jr. The gift named the Lampe Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering.
- UCLA Health announced a $20M gift from the Saul and Joyce Brandman Foundation. The gift names The UCLA Saul and Joyce Brandman Foundation Center for Lung Health.
- The University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson celebrated a $14.2M donation from Pat Gerleman, in honor of her late husband James “Jim” Gerleman and late brother-in-law, John Edward Gerleman. The gift supports medical student scholarships.
- Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre received a $10M CAD donation from Joan Donald, John and Heather Donald, and Peter and Kathy Lacey. The gift supports a cardiac catheterization lab for the Alberta hospital.
- St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation announced a $10M CAD challenge gift from Rayla and George Myhal. The gift aims to inspire additional support for improving healthcare in Toronto’s west end.
- Rush University celebrated a $10M donation from the Paul M. Angell Family Foundation. The gift, supporting the Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center will support research into the treatment and prevention of Alzheimer’s Disease.
- UW Health announced a $10M donation from American Family Insurance to expand the pediatric intensive care unit at American Family Children’s Hospital.
- Saint Louis University received a $10M donation from an anonymous donor. The gift, made in honor of Gerald A. Maguire MD supports medical education and research through establishing the Gerald A. Maguire, M.D., and Joanne S. Maguire School of Medicine Cura Personalis Endowed Deanship, funding the Gerald A. Maguire, M.D., and Joanne S. Maguire Endowed Chair in Neuropsychiatry Research and Education, and supporting the Health Education Center.
- Mayo Clinic announced a $10M gift from the Horejsi Charitable Foundation to support Bold. Forward. Unbound. in Arizona, a capital expansion investment on Mayo Clinic’s Phoenix campus.
