GOBEL’s Helen Poole Receives Prestigious Appointment

Engaged as Adjunct Faculty at the University of North Carolina School of Nursing

Helen Poole joined GOBEL as a Principal Consultant in 2014 and quickly developed a one-hour nurse philanthropy training session which was accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.  Her diligent efforts have rendered the GOBEL Group the only consulting firm to have an accredited training for nurses.

Today, GOBEL, the world’s top health care philanthropy consulting and technology company, is proud to announce her appointment as Adjunct Faculty at the University of North Carolina School of Nursing.

“No life achievement by Helen Poole surprises any of us at GOBEL,” said Chad Gobel, the company’s founder and CEO. “She is remarkably gifted as a consultant for us developing and spearheading our Nursing Program.  But she is so much more than her position.  She is endlessly energetic and passionate about the work we do.  Her background in nursing abounds with accolades, and she has applied that skill, knowledge, and experience to our grateful patient efforts.”

In 2020, Ms. Poole was asked to be a Guest Lecturer for the UNC School of Nursing for   Managing in Complex Healthcare Organizations, a class for nurses pursuing a Masters or Doctorate. Fittingly, those lectures focused on patient gratitude and the impact nurse leaders can have working collaboratively with the Foundation offices in their institutions.  Now she occupies a more enduring position at the school with this distinguished faculty position. Prior to GOBEL, Ms. Poole was the executive director of Grateful Patient Programs at Duke Medicine.  Her nursing career spans more than 42 years.

“The faculty position is a tremendous honor,” said Ms. Poole.  “Together with our grateful patient work at GOBEL, I really feel as if my work has a tangible reward, an impact that has legs and can help people long-term.”

Helen Poole is a native North Carolinian with two degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has been married for 29 years.

“She is beloved here, and we congratulate her on this accomplishment,” concluded Chad Gobel.

With 65 seasoned professionals and growing, GOBEL’s team is respected in the industry and has come from the top medical centers in the nation. GOBEL’s consultants collectively have more than 500 years of experience, have led programs that have raised hundreds of millions annually, and directed billion-dollar campaigns. Leading the healthcare philanthropy market, the company now features 300 active clients, 1,000 prior engagements, 65 full-time employees, a completed equity investment round and an expansive portfolio of consulting and technology solutions for healthcare organizations.
