$10M+ healthcare gifts in July 2025:
- The HEMIN Foundation announced a RMB 2B ($279.2M USD) donation to establish a comprehensive public hospital in China. The gift will be used to establish Shanghai Sixth People’s Hospital, Fujian Hospital (HEMIN Campus).
- Fred Hutch Cancer Center received a $100M gift from Stuart and Molly Sloan. The gift names the Sloan Clinic, an outpatient clinic, and support research and patient care.
- Holy Name Medical Center celebrated a $75M donation from the Douglas M. Noble Family Foundation. The gift of the foundation’s entire assets was chosen by the late Dr. Noble’s mother, Joan Noble in memory of her son. The gift supports the hospital through accelerating innovation and research, advancing capital projects, and funding medical education.
- UPMC Presbyterian Hospital announced a $65M donation from Daniel G. and Carole L. Kamin and the Kamin Family Foundation. The gift supports the organization’s mission of delivering life-changing medicine and pioneering innovative treatments to transform patient care and names the Daniel G. and Carole L. Kamin Tower.
- Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health celebrated a $28M gift from Caroline and Sidney Kimmel. The gift names the Caroline Kimmel Emergency Department and supports research as well as capital improvements.
- The University of California San Francisco and Stanford Health announced a $100M donation from the Weill Family Foundation. The gift launches a $200M initiative, launched by each institution, establishing the Weill Cancer Hub West.
- Yale School of Medicine announced a $27.7M grant from Aligning Research to Impact Autism (ARIA). The funding supports the development of non-invasive functional communication methods through brain modeling in autism spectrum disorder.
- University of Maryland Shore Regional Heath received a $25M gift from an anonymous donor. The gift supports clinical programs and advancing teaching initiatives.
- Penn Medicine and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia celebrated a $25M donation from Michael R. Armellino. The gift creates the Armellino Center of Excellence for Williams Syndrome.
- One Young World celebrated a $20M donation from Melinda French Gates. The gift establishes the Hauwa Ojeifo Scholarship, supporting students addressing mental health, disability rights, maternal health, and more.
- The Center for Pediatric CRISPR Cures at the University of California San Francisco announced a $20M investment from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. The gift supports research at the center.
- Harvard Medical School celebrated a $18.86M gift from Len Blavatnik and Blavatnik Family Foundation. The gift supports the Blavatnik Therapeutics Challenge Awards, launches Blavatnik Institute Early-Career Investigator Awards, funds junior faculty awards.
- The Karolinska Institutet received SEK 152.8M ($16M USD) From The Swedish Brain Foundation (Hjärnfonden). The funds support neuroscience and brain research projects in Sweden.
- WashU Medicine celebrated a $15M donation from Dr. P. Roy and Diana Vagelos. The gift supports, names the Roy Vagelos Medical Scientist Training Program, creates an endowment supporting MD/PhD students, a program which Dr. Vagelos established over 50 years ago at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
- Mount Sinai Medical Center announced a $15M donation from Ken Griffin. The gift supports expanding cancer research and treatment in Miami Beach, FL and names the Hialeah Emergency Center.
- Gerald A. Maguire, MD donated $10M to establish the Stuttering Treatment And Research Society (STARS). The center aims to research the cause of stuttering through advanced neuroscience-based research and comprehensive treatment methods.
- Lifebridge Health received a $10M donation from The Kahlert Foundation. The gift established the Kahlert Surgical Innovation Institute.
- St. Joseph’s Health Centre celebrated a transformational gift from the Barrett Family Foundation. The gift creates the Barrett Centre for Quality Improvement in Toronto.
- Shriner’s Children’s Hospital in Shreveport announced a transformational, eight-figure gift from the Late Hollis Ray Waller. Mr. Waller’s entire estate was left to the pediatric hospital.
