$10M+ healthcare gifts in October and November 2025:

  • Sanford Health announced a $300M gift from Denny Sanford. The gift helps establish the Sanford Black Hills Medical Center campus in Rapid City, SD.
  • Tom Golisano announced 6 new gifts totaling $253M supporting children’s hospitals. Organizations receiving support and joining the Golisano Children’s Alliance include:
    • Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, Hartford, CT ($50M)
    • Penn State Health Children’s Hospital, Hershey, PA ($50M)
    • University of Kentucky Children’s Hospital, Lexington, KY ($50M)
    • University of Maryland Children’s Hospital, Baltimore, MD ($50M)
    • University of Vermont Children’s Hospital, Burlington, VT ($25M)
    • WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital, Morgantown, WV ($28M)
  • The University of Western Australia celebrated two transformational gifts – A$221M from the Stan Perron Charitable Foundation and A$25M from Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation – and matched the gifts with A$3M in funding. The gifts support the Rare Care Comprehensive Centre.
  • UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital  and San Francisco schools received two gifts totaling $139M from Marc and Lynne Benioff and Salesforce. The donations support pediatric care while the gifts to schools aim to equip the future healthcare workforce with AI skills.
  • Arizona State University announced a nine-figure gift from John Shufeldt. The gift names and supports the new John Shufeldt School of Medicine and Medical Engineering.
  • Massachusetts General Hospital celebrated a $100M gift from the New Balance Foundation. The gift names the New Balance Foundation Tower and supports cardiology and vascular patient care.
  • The University of California San Francisco announced a $100M gift from the Edward Fein Charitable Trust. The gift names and supports the Edward and Pearl Fein Memory and Aging Center.
  • Soroka University Medical Center in Israel celebrated a $100M donation from Sylvan Adams. The gift supports reconstruction of the hospital and is part of a larger $300M investment in Israeli health care infrastructure.
  • The Broad Institute announced a $100M investment from the MacArthur Foundation. The funding supports the Sentinel project, an outbreak surveillance framework to prevent pandemics through local empowerment of communities.
  • Temple University celebrated a $55M gift from Christopher M. Barnett. The gift names the Christopher M. Barnett College of Public Health.
  • The UC Irvine Institute for Memory Impairments and Neurological Disorders (UCI MIND) received a $50M gift from Ann and Charlie Quilter and their family members Matt, Patty, Chris, and Patrick. The gift supports the initiative including clinical research, recruiting researchers, providing patients and families with care, and other mission support.
  • Boston Children’s Hospital celebrated a $35M donation from Hansjeorg Wyss through the Wyss Medical Foundation. The gift builds on a prior gift made in 2020, to support the Rosamund Stone Zander and Hansjoerg Wyss Translational Neuroscience Center.
  • Utah Valley University announced a $35M donation from Rich and Marla Linder. The gift establishes the Xenter Building and the Orrin Hatch Center for National Security Studies as well as the development of the university’s Vineyard Campus, focusing on health, wellness, innovation, and community connection.
  • CHEO Foundation and SickKids received a $35M CAD gift from the Waverley House Foundation. The gift supports advancements in precision mental healthcare for children.
  • The University of California Los Angeles announced a $31M donation from Dr. Allen and Charlotte Ginsburg. The gift supports the UCLA Research Park and the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
  • UT Southwestern Medical Center and Children’s Health celebrated a $25M gift from the Harry W. Bass, Jr. Foundation, directed through Southwestern Medical Foundation, in support of their pediatric campus under construction. In recognition of the gift, the Specialty Center on the new Dallas pediatric campus, which will house outpatient clinics, will include the Harry W. Bass, Jr. Foundation Lobby.
  • Lucile Packard Foundation and Stanford Medicine Children’s Health announced a $25M donation from Carol and Ned Spieker. Their gift supports modernization of the children’s hospitals’ west wing, supporting mothers and babies.
  • Northwestern Medicine received a $25M gift from Kent and Liz Dauten. The gift established the Northwestern Medicine Dauten Behavioral Health Institute and the Bipolar Disorder Center of Excellence.
  • UCLA Health announced a $20M gift from the Steven C. Gordon Family Foundation. The gift names the Laurie and Steven C. Gordon Pavilion, adding hospital beds to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.
  • The University of Chicago celebrated a $20M gift from the Gracias Family Foundation. The gift supports the Gracias Family Center for Human Sciences and Wellbeing, the Gracias Family Research Fund, and two endowed professorships housed at the Becker Friedman Institute for Economics and the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering.
  • UC Health received a $20M donation from the Gardner Family Foundation. The gift supports the UC Gardner Neuroscience Institute, advancing brain health.
  • Campfire Circle celebrated a $20M CAD gift from Emmanuelle Gattuso. The gift supports play-based programs for children with serious illness including expanding in-hospital programing and building a new medical camp in Prince Edward County.
  • The University of Vermont received a $16M bequest intention from George Bemis, in honor of his late wife, Nancy Wicks Bemis. The gift supports scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
  • The University of Maryland announced a $16M planned gift from Professor Anne Simon. The gift establishes two endowed professorships in the Department of Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics, one in virology and another in RNA or plant biology.
  • The University of Washington celebrated a $15M grant from the Canopy Foundation. The grant establishes the Neurodiversity and Employment Institute at the UW.
  • New York-Presbyterian announced a $10M gift from Kim and Jon Shirley. The gift established the Erick Shirley Suicide Prevention Initiative at the Center for Youth Mental Health at New York-Presbyterian in memory of their late son. The funding will advance new technology and research designed to identify and support young people at risk.
  • WashU Medicine received a $10M gift from George and Debra Couch. The gift, supporting research in personalized medicine, also names the Debra and George W. Couch III Biomedical Research Building.
  • Texas Tech Health El Paso celebrated a $10M gift from GECU, naming the GECU Women’s Health Wing in the new Fox Cancer Center. The gift supports the campaign to construct the region’s first comprehensive cancer center.
  • Washington State University’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital received a $10M bequest intention from Heidi Charleson and her late husband, Lou Woodworth. The gift supports renovations to the Emergency and Critical Care unit in the WSU Pullman Veterinary Teaching Hospital, establishes the Charleson and Woodworth Emergency and Critical Care Equipment Fund, establishes the Woodworth and Bustad Scholarship, and establishes the Charleson and Woodworth Good Samaritan Fund.
  • Novant Health announced a $10M gift from Michael Jordan. The gift names the Novant Health Deloris Jordan Neuroscience Institute.
  • The Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov) celebrated a $10M gift from The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust. The gift supports an emergency underground hospital at the new Rehabilitation Tower at Ichilov Hospital.
  • McLean Hospital received a $10M gift from the Phyllis and Jerome Lyle Rappaport Foundation. The gift supports a new child and adolescent campus.
  • Northwestern University announced a transformational gift from Kenneth C. Griffin, naming the Northwestern Medicine Catherine Gratz Griffin Lake Forest Hospital in honor of his mother.
  • Duquesne University received a transformational gift from Jim and Celeste Nasuti. The gift names the Nasuti College of Osteopathic Medicine, supports scholarships, and funds faculty recruitment.
  • The University of Arizona Health Sciences and Banner Health celebrated a transformational grant from the Diane and Bruce Halle Foundation. The grant supports expanding primary care graduate medical education (GME) across Arizona.
  • University Hospitals received a gift from Carol and John Fountain. The gift, supporting the Because of You campaign, names the Carol and John Fountain Pavilion.
  • UT Southwestern Medical Center and Children’s Health announced a multi-million dollar donation from Goldman Sachs supporting the joint pediatric campus under construction in Dallas, TX.
